Outrageously Vintage is very proud of their long lasting high revving maintenance free engines.  We have spent thousands of countless hours figuring out why engine components fail and break at the race track.

We've invested so much time, not only to improve our own engines, but to figure out why so many engines out there fail.

Our experience has proven to us that most all engine failures are due to oiling issues.

The most common call we get in our shop from new customers is their story about the broken connecting rod.  A broken connecting rod is actually a very rare occurrence - to just have the rod break.  The reason we say this is because upon inspection most all engines with a broken rod mysteriously do not have the rod bearing that went with this rod.  Clearly, the rod bearing washed away due to an oiling issue, which caused the end result of the rod breaking.

We hope you find this information helpful and if you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail us.

For this big block application we drilled 6 oil return holes at 5/16" diameter.  This greatly helps with the return of the oil to the oil pan.

Windage trays gain 15-20HP, but they are also responsible for an awful lot of spun bearings.  We've come up with our own modifications that still maintain the horsepower gain, but help tremendously with the return of the oil to the oil pan.

Outer holes on the windage tray we drill to .250, and the inner lower holes on the windage tray are drilled to .150.

Holes drilled in the top of the oil pickup relieve the air bubbles and air pockets that build up in the oil pickup.

We drill these holes at .040.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PAGE IS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION.

WE WILL BE ADDING MANY MORE PHOTOS OF OUR ENGINE WORK IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE.
